Just a quick bit about myself:
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in English literature. I’ve worked in the pet care industry for the past few years. The adorableness featured below is my Collie mix, Pippin. While I love animals of all kinds, I have more passion for reading, writing and proofreading.
I am proud to say that I am a graduate of Proofread Anywhere’s Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice. I was taught to proofread based on Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters and NCRA guidelines. I’m also aware that every reporter has their own preference and am familiar with Margie Wakeman Well’s Bad Grammar, Good Punctuation and The Gregg Reference Manual. Throughout the course, I learned grammar and punctuation rules that are specific to court transcripts and practiced my skills proofing actual transcripts totaling over 3,000 pages.
I’ve also completed General Proofreading: Theory and Practice, where I learned to proofread for authors. In this course, I was taught to proof based on The Chicago Manual of Style and practiced my skills on various stories. As an aspiring author and avid fantasy reader, I know how important it is for your book to be free of grammatical errors.
I would be an awesome addition to any court reporter’s or author’s team because I’m detail-oriented in all of my work. I always put my best effort in. I also enjoy learning and expanding my skills. I have a lot of enthusiasm for proofing!
